- The student is responsible for communicating to their advisor and if a faculty member is involved, the student is also required to notify them as well.
- All petitions must be submitted through formal request by using the Petition of Exceptions to Program Curriculum Requirements form. The form must be delivered to the Registrar’s Office in order to facilitate timeliness and tracking. The student is responsible for delivering the petition to the Registrar. Copies will be sent by the Registrar to the Dean, Advisor, and Student prior to committee action.
- The Registrar’s Office will forward the Petition of Exceptions to Program Curriculum Requirements form to the appropriate person(s) or his/her designee. The committee chair will organize a meeting to review the petition prior to the start of the semester; with a committee decision following.
- The Committee Chair will prepare a letter within five business days of the meeting to inform the student of the committee’s decision and rationale. The Committee Chair and Secretary will sign the letter. The Committee Chair will deliver the letter to the Registrar’s office and the Registrar will provide a copy of the letter to the Dean, Advisor, and Student.
