Dismissal for Cause
Failure to meet the requirements as listed in the Bryan College of Health Sciences Student Catalog and/or course syllabi may be grounds for dismissal from the program and College regardless of clinical/classroom performances. Students may be dismissed at any time when performance, based on the faculty professional judgment, is deemed unacceptable or unsafe.
The President of the Bryan College of Health Sciences has the authority to dismiss any student from the College at any time when such action is deemed to be in the best interest of the College or of the student.
Failure to follow hospital, affiliate agency, or Bryan College of Health Sciences policies is cause for immediate dismissal.
Academic Dismissal
In addition to dismissal for cause, a student may be dismissed due to unsuccessful academic performance. This includes any of the following:
- Exceeding the number of courses allowable for the major or in general education courses per the Repeating a Course Policy
- Meeting the GPA requirements for Academic Dismissal per the Academic Standing Policy
Appeal of Dismissal
Students who wish to appeal a dismissal should do so through the Student Grievance Process
Dismissal Procedure
Students dismissed from the Bryan College of Health Sciences must carry out the following procedures:
- Turn in the student name tag and any keys checked out to the student. A fine of $100.00 will be charged for any lost medication access key that is not turned in.
- Return all resource materials to the Library and skills lab equipment to the Bryan College of Health Sciences Office. If assigned a locker, remove the lock and all contents.
- Check to make certain that all financial obligations have been met.
- Arrange to schedule repayment of student loans through the Financial Aid Office.
